Composition[]

The instrumentals of Swarm usually feature distorted synths, loud kickdrums and aggressive 808s.

Reception[]

Similar to both the artists previous efforts, Swarm was viewed as a meme rap project. It was received to mostly positive reviews on AOTY with users like Toasterqueen12, TheDankestMeme, RakkSmells and Stankysauce calling it a fun and innovative project and a stark contrast to some of the more poorly received projects from Flex Entertainment. However it received some more mixed and negative reviews from some users such as PipePanic who criticized the project for being one-note and being bogged down by meme samples. Former Flex Entertainment artist A.J. also criticized the project for being too long and not having many funny jokes.

Chart performance[]

Swarm debuted at number two on the Braeden's Most Played Albums chart with 220,000 units sold. It was blocked from the top spot by Thomas Rhett's "Center Point Road" It became their second top ten album. It lasted fourteen weeks in the top ten. It was the 23rd bestselling album of 2019, 19th best-selling album of 2020, and 39th best-selling album of 2021. It was certified five-times platinum by BMP.
